Otaku Paradise: Akihabara - Tokyo, Japan
Akihabara, a true paradise for the Otaku and gaming fans where pixels come to life and virtual world collide. No, I'm not joking. Everything you've seen in animes, manga and games takes physical form in Akihabara. There's more figure stores than I could count.
This area is also know for this many massive arcade game stores, some 7 stories high. We walked the streets a bit and geeked out about all the characters on the billboards we could see. Then went to try our luck on the claw machines at GiGO Akihabara. The amount of electronic stores always blows me away as well.
With the amount of neon lights, arcade sounds and crowded streets we got over stimulated pretty quick. The figurines we did find were a little over our budget. We decided to wait until Osaka to buy any.
